A last-minute underwater photoshoot reservation

Time management as a solopreneur can be tough sometimes.

I had just made the decision, that very afternoon, that I would try not to check messages and emails late in the evening in order to have much-needed off-screen time before going to bed.

As luck would have it, when I checked my Instagram in the morning somebody messaged me the previous evening for a last-minute shoot that day, I couldn’t believe it!

Barbara was in a bit of a time crunch, she had a flight booked for that very afternoon. Given our determination to make the shoot happen, we managed to make our schedules align on such short notice!

Underwater surprise

While having a super fun cenote photo session, a freshwater turtle came to say hello!

Normally these turtles are pretty shy, but this one let us approach it. I had to take this unique opportunity to take some photos of it with Barbara in the background!

Our willingness and determination to have the cenote photoshoot on such short notice had been rewarded!

Barbara’s insight

I had the best freaking day ever!!! I was on Facebook and saw a post about underwater photos in Mexico while I was in Mexico. Yasss, I couldn’t believe my awesome luck.

When I reached out I met the nicest sweetest photographer Francesca and her team. Even with extremely short notice she was able to schedule a shoot before I departed Mexico.

You guys don’t understand, I searched around while I was waiting for a response, and there really is no better photographer. All of her photos that I saw were spectacular. She even arranged transportation to the cenote that was excellently priced based on where my resort was.

When I actually met her and her assistant Rossina, I knew I was in good hands. The cenote was absolutely beautiful and they had some great spots to shoot in. We spent some time discussing do’s and don’t’s and what to expect.

I was on the fence about opening my eyes but I wanted some artistic shots like that. Towards the end of the session I did! There was even a turtle that came by and swam with me.  He let us get good shots with him. I’m too excited because I wanted to swim with turtles but that activity was not one I could do without being a part of a tour which I did not want to do. I got to do it anyway.

Everything about this experience was wonderful. I unleashed my inner mermaid while feeling totally comfortable and safe.

I would do this again for sure, next time with more outfit changes. lol
