A “momcation” for Marquita.

Marquita is a wife and a twins’ mama who travels often with her entire family, but not this time around. She visited Tulum with a friend and decided to enroll in an underwater photoshoot.

She picked a lovely purple tulle dress for the occasion, which I loved instantly! The warm colors create a wonderful contrast against the ever so present greens and blues of the cenote.

Playing with the cenote’s inhabitants.

After the initial water acclimatization practice, Marquita loosens up and does a great job at posing by following my directions and guidance.
Although she wasn’t very comfortable in natural bodies of water, she became confident enough to swim in the deep area of the cenote, which allowed me to take some photos of her interaction with a freshwater turtle.
Although they are normally shy, this turtle was very relaxed and accustomed to swimmers. It let us come close enough to take some close-up shots of it with Marquita in the background!

From Marquita’s blog.

Hands down, this underwater photoshoot was the best photoshoot experience that I have had. Not only was the cenote beautiful and such a great place to be in, but both Fran and Ro gave amazing tips on how to pose- continuing to remind me to breathe, point my toes, try this facial expression and/or pose. It was kinda like taking photos with a friend. You know the friend; the one that will go above and beyond to capture your best angles.

check out the article she wrote about her experience with the underwater photoshoot .
